Ever the contrarian, Christopher Hitchens is now pro-histamine.

the only worhty intellectual pugilist of our time.

"In his view, the anti-war left has abandoned the principles of secularism, liberal democracy and feminism."

he's absolutely right. at the end of the day he's not so much pro war as he is anti-hippy - and who can argue with that?

Give him a couple years and he probably will.

There's a difference between fighting the good fight and itchin' for one.

"Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes." --Walt Whitman

Personally I find the sincere lyricism of Whitman a more appealing invitation to the nuance of his thought than Hitchens' strident misanthropy.

Maybe I'm part hippy.
But that won't stop me from doing dead hippy jokes:

Didja here about that guy at Bonnaroo that got run over by Ricky Scaggs' Bus? Witnesses heard a high, lonesome sound.

Guess I contradict myself, too.

misanthropy?
you must have missed his article in last month's Vanity Fair that details the history, and pays glorious tribute to ... the blowjob.

Now that his crowd's turnin' on him he pulls out a dick joke. Always a smart move.

I'll have to read it further.
