I think you may have inadvertently had a beer with a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Did you get a card?
He did say "Here's Your Sign" a lot.
I agree with you on the clan rally idea/metaphor. And keep on the watchout for those blue collar comedy guys :P
You'll find there's a lot of ethical dilemmas in comedy. Sometimes you bomb for noble reasons and kill for all the wrong ones.
Just tip the waitresses well either way.
